Another Favorites Post
Three Words: Dark Chocolate Almonds
Clean Cotton Scent: I am pretty sure I am allergic to this scent (sneeze every time) but I just LOVE it!

Also in love with the Sunwashed Linen- Bet you can't guess which is my favorite aisle to walk down in the grocery story (well, second to the coffee aisle)
This scent is also my secret weapon against a certain dog's need to expel gas all the time. Their air refreshers are great!
One of the families I work for went away on vacation and they brought me back a necklace made out of coconut from the BVI! I am sure if I went there it would be another favorite to all to my ongoing list! I went on a cruise once and just loved it. No need to even leave the boat! I am thinking my upcoming graduation may require a celebration cruise. After all, I am pretty sure I have set the record for taking the longest time to finish my undergrad degree going full-time (never part-time) and through 2 summers! Maybe I should contact Guinness.
Anyway, ahem, here is the necklace... andsome weird chick me

Ok, back to the favorites...
Dove 's Go Fresh refreshing: A serious lifesaver. Err, sweat saver.
Vineyard Vines Bag I bought in Nantucket 2 years ago....oh shoot, no cord to my camera. Ok, here is the one from the web site
Mine is the same but around the top is pink with turtles. :)
That's all for now. :) Happy Labor Day weekend!

My Story
If you want to contact me please use the following email address: kaas.kadence (at) myfairpoint (dot) net
So, what is my story....
I am a total blog hopper, and I always see sidebar buttons that will lead you to a post about the author's story, so I thought I'd follow suit and write my own. Not that I'm a follower... (or a blog stalker) ahem
Moving on. Like I said this is my story.
My story is not one filled with a past of drugs or alcohol addiction, it's not the story of a girl who was pregnant at a young age by a guy she did not know, it is also not the story of a perfect, seamless journey.
Growing up in a family of five, I was the youngest of two girls and one boy. My sister and I are 6 1/2 years apart and my brother and I 2 1/2. The dynamic of my family is unique in that my brother was diagnosed developmentally delayed at an early age. For my parents, this diagnosis redefined who they were. Not only were they parents, but they were now parents of a child with significant disabilities.
But this is my story, remember?
I grew up in a family that believed in christian morals and principles. We attended church every Sunday morning and evening with Sunday school in between. At the young age of three I remember kneeling at my toy box and asking the Lord to forgive me of my sin and to come live in my heart.
I was the student who always received the Christian Character Award at the end of the school year. However, I have no real memory of taking hold of my faith and making it personal until my junior high years. I had youth group leaders who I adored- adored! I held on to every word they said to me. I have always been so grateful towards them for planting seeds and teaching me how to grow them in my own heart. They taught me what it is to invest in the lives of others, to remain faithful to the Lord, and how to reach out by just being there and loving.
In high school I spent time in Hungary and Ukraine. I walked through gypsy camps, held the hands of street kids, braided the hair of girls who would be soon released to the streets because they were turning 18 and the orphanages would no longer keep them. No one wanted to adopt them. There I sat with these orphans, with the love of a mother, father, sister, brother, and many friends supporting me.
Every time I think about those children's bare feet running through the streets of the gypsy camp, the baby bellies uncovered, and the insects crawling through the hair of the school aged children, my mind is quickly reminded of another picture- the pastor in the camp, hands and eyes lifted towards heaven, praising and thanking the Father.
Years have passed since that experience, and I still hold these images in my mind. Oh Lord, that my heart would be that thankful. How blessed am I to be sitting here, typing this on my laptop, sweatshirt on to keep me warm, with a full belly from a delicious meal.
Since then, the Lord has allowed me to walk alongside friends and family members who have walked down scary paths. I have cried, prayed, and listened to the heartache that many have had to endure. In the end and through it all, He has drawn me closer. He has shown me His heart for His people.
Even though the Lord has blessed me with so much, I have lied, I have made decisions that I will always regret, I have uttered words behind the back of others that should have never crossed my lips or my mind. I have judged far too many people's motives than I care to admit, I have chosen to walk the opposite direction of the Lord's leading, I have looked to myself for strength instead of Him...I could go on and on.
The point is, my story is filled with the grace and blessings of the Lord. I have graciously taken them and I have also refused them in order to follow my own desires.
But the Lord never ceases to forgive me.
He never ceases to love me.
He never ceases to watch over me.
He never ceases to take the blame for my sin.
This is not my story.
This is HIS story

Fallen off the face of the earth New Hampshire pt.1
I believe I have spent a total of 5 or 6 nights in my own bed since the middle of June. Now it's July August already. As busy as I have been, and believe me, I have been BUSY, I STILL feel like we were robbed of summer. With the places I have been and the tan I currently have, you'd think I would be exhausted from all summer has brought, and I'd feel I had the greatest summer, but for one reason or another, it still does not feel like summer.
Moving on because I have no revelations as to why.
Here are some Summer Snapshots from here, there, and everywhere..
RI for one of my dearest friend's wedding: June
Pre Wedding Fun
Beautiful Bride
Three of the four bridesmaids and Mother of the Bride
John's (cousin) elementary graduation: June
Me and the 'grad' -guess I did not have a tan yet.

Me and my Dad :)
Sister, BIL, and their crazy dogs visit from Ohio: June/July
DARK choc. covered strawberries-YUM!
Annual 3rd of July Bonfires on the beach

To be continued....

Thank you, no really, thank YOU!
I have been given an "Honest Scrap" award fromKatrina over at Sevin Family. Sweet!
Here are the rules~ First, tell your readers 10 things they may not know about you, but that have to be true! Second, tag ten people with the award and third, let them know about the award. Finally, make sure you link back to the person who awarded you.
Here we go....
~I have a strange obsession with avocado...guacamole, in a salad, on a sandwich...SO DELICIOUS!
~Every time I visit my sister in Ohio, we have to eat at Bob Evans at least twice! I LOVE eating breakfast food for dinner (or anytime), and Bob's serves breakfast all day!
~ I have been sucked into far TOO many tv shows this year. I have never been one to follow a show from week to week, but this year, when I found out about fancast.com, I found myself catching up on weekly shows. Always a good thing to be doing instead of school work.
~I have a dry sense of humor. I hardly go a minute without saying something sarcastic. :)
~I am about 70% introverted. I would much rather spend the day with one or two friends than surrounded by a group of friends.
~I played basketball in school for 3 years and loved it. I was the starting center and pretty proud of my defense skills...not so much anymore. ahem...
~I carry my purple BPA free Camelbak water bottle with me everywhere, filling it several times a day.
~I am not a fan of staying alone at night, but since we have a German Shep. I feel a little better.
~I love
LOVE the beach! I grew up spending summers on the beach. I love to swim, soak up the sun, and walk out of the cottage into sand.
~I was originally a Spanish major in college, switched my major (and school!) half way through JUNIOR year, and now am a Human Service/ Management major with a Spanish minor. I am 3 classes away from graduation, and I plan on going straight for my Master's. It has taken me far too long to receive my undergrad degree going full time.
I am supposed to tag people, but I think I am going to come back to that.

Not me! Roadtrip style
I am not sitting in a hotel room right now because I did not decide to drive from Mass to Ohio with my sister and BIL. I did not decide last minute at dinner. My BIL did not hop on the computer and find me a plane ticket home for next week. We were not on the road 20 minutes after I began pondering the idea of going.
I did not take the 1am-4am shift.
We did not make it to Harrisburg. We did not have to stop and get a hotel at 4am because no one could drive any further. My sister and I did not share a double bed, and I do not remember apologizing several times for hitting her in the middle of the
We did not decide to give my BIL his own bed so the dogs could sleep with him. :)
Time to hit the road Jack- no time for more. Happy Not me! Monday and check out MckMama's blog!
