Neither Death Nor Life

I have found comfort in this Truth today

Romans 8:35-38

35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written:
"For Your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." 37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him Who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

A Prayer

It is my hour to pray for Stellan. While I have been continuously asking the Lord for favor on his behalf, I have chosen this hour in the prayer vigil to focus all thoughts and prayers towards this little one and his family. To talk with God and cry out to Him.

I immediately thought of a favorite scripture I have loved since learning it in junior high.

Psalm 17:6-9

6 I call on you, O God, for you will answer me;
give ear to me and hear my prayer.

7 Show the wonder of Your great love,
You who save by Your right hand
those who take refuge in You from their foes.

8 Keep me as the apple of Your eye;
hide me in the shadow of Your wings

9 from the wicked who assail me,
from my mortal enemies who surround me.

Lord Jesus, I feel so broken over this little one struggling for his life. As I sit here there is nothing more I can do aside from pray. In all situations I know this is the strongest weapon I have. I know You can defy all medical chances and realities. With one touch, one sweep You alone can heal Stellan’s body. Father, I ask for this little one’s life. I ask for steady hands and clear minds for the doctors and nurses. Comfort Jennifer as she rocks her baby boy- give her a peace that passes all understanding. Come, Lord Jesus, come. Please grant Your favor.

Psalm 77
13 Your ways, O God, are holy.
What god is so great as our God?

14 You are the God who performs miracles;
you display your power among the peoples.

There is NO ONE like OUR God- not on earth or in heaven. I struggle to fully understand Your sovereignty and its power, but I know nothing can be done to take away from Your namesake. For that I ask for glory and honor be brought to Your name through Stellan and his family.

12 I will meditate on all Your works
and consider all Your mighty deeds.

Mighty are Your works. Mighty is the strength You give us on a daily basis. Mighty is the power You have to work miracles- even ones we don’t see. Mighty is Your plan. Mighty is Your name.

Sweet Jesus, please give strength to Stellan’s body. Please bring his heart into a normal, steady rhythm. We all love this little miracle boy and want to see others come to You through his story, no matter the outcome. Wrap your arms of love around Jennifer and this little boy You created, know, and love. Hide them in the shadow of Your wings.

Nothing is impossible! We are trusting. We are beseeching You. We love you. You are our Healer and all we have. I believe this tonight.

Bring Your glory, bring Your comfort, bring peace and healing, I pray. There is nowhere to turn but to You.

In Jesus’ sweet healing name....

Stellan WILL live- here or in heaven.

I remember....

Every Saturday morning when I was younger- a trip to Dunk's and then to K-mart to pick out a new Barbie

Hitting every holiday parade there was. Standing on the side, buying from all the street vendors on main street-hats, flags, etc.

Thursday night Spaghetti

Sunday night dinners

Visiting in Boston 12 years ago when he was first diagnosed

Hearing the same stories every few months- all about what my aunt and uncle did when they were growing up.

Playing the game where I would run around the couch, and he would hold his arm up and act like a bridge I could not pass

Hiding candy in his car for me

His pink polo shirt :)

Going to church with him while he worked in the office

Riding bikes together when I was little

His "special medicine" on Sunday afternoons

Always being called "Doll" in Greek--"Koukla"

Getting a few bucks here and there- when YiaYia was not looking

Talking about sports and politics

Many trips to "The Big One"

His purple Cadillac

Sleeping over when I was little and jumping on YiaYia and Papou's bed when I woke up in the am

Hearing "Hi, my girl!!"

....and SO many more wonderful things

He was the only grandfather I knew and loved so much. He would do anything for me. I am so glad he is no longer sick-he is rejoicing in heaven now.

I Love you, Papou! Thank you for being the best grandfather any girl could ask for. Enjoy being in the presence of our Savior! I miss you so much!

Summer Sandals!

Bought my summer sandals this week! I LOVE Reefs, and have worn them every summer for about 4 years! Can't wait until sandal season- I am sick tired of socks and boots! I love my boots, but time to retire them for at least 7 months!

It's......... NOT ME! Monday

Updated** I did not try on said scarf and decide I bought the wrong color. I will not be returning to Gap tomorrow to exchange for a different color.

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

At the end of my time dog sitting at one house, I did not wash the sheets, wonder if they iron their sheets because they were without a wrinkle, and then proceed to iron the top half of the sheets hoping they would not notice the bottom half of the sheets. Not me!

I also did NOT buy this beautiful scarf at Gap yesterday after after seeing it on a link from Big Mama and looking at it 52 times online. I also did not buy a second one in purple as a thank you gift for a friend.
I did not realize this week that I am addicted to too many tv shows this year...which also means I am not counting down the hours until the Bachelor tonight...that would be ridiculous because that show is all drama and down right ridiculous!

I did not let some strange dog in to run around and go crazy throughout the house. She was just so cute!!

Lastly, I did not skip church yesterday because I thought the snow would make me late for work after church.
